Who we are

8Bit.Pizza is run as a personal hobby project. For privacy questions or requests, email sliceof@8bit.pizza.

What stays on your device

Most of what you do in the calculator does not get sent to our servers, because we do not run user accounts or store your recipes on a backend:

You can clear this data anytime via your browser settings. Uninstalling or clearing site data removes it from that device.

What we collect automatically (analytics)

If you click Accept on our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used (for example pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and interactions). Google processes this data as our processor. We configure IP anonymisation and do not use analytics for advertising personalisation.

If you click Reject, we do not load Google Analytics. See our Cookie policy for details.

Other third-party services

Service worker and offline use

The site may register a service worker to cache files so the app works offline or loads faster. That is functional storage, not used to profile you.

When you email us

If you contact us at sliceof@8bit.pizza, we use your email address and message content only to respond. We do not sell your email address.

Optional support

Optional support is offered on our About page. On the website, support goes through Ko-fi. In the Android app, optional support goes through Google Play consumable in-app products (for example supporter_coin_1, supporter_coin_3, and supporter_coin_5). These purchases do not unlock extra features. Payment details are handled by Ko-fi or Google — we only receive what they pass to us (such as amount and, if you provide it, name or email). Ko-fi’s and Google’s own privacy policies apply to those checkouts.

Why we use your data (UK lawful bases)

How long we keep data

International transfers

Google and other providers may process data outside the UK. Where required, they rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses).

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to processing, and to data portability where applicable. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). To exercise your rights, email sliceof@8bit.pizza.

Children

The calculator is a general audience tool. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
